Cracking Art in Trieste

Walking in a sunny day in the center of Trieste I was surprise by the view of a flock of colorful swimming frogs in Canal Grande.

It is the installation by the Cracking Art Group, six international artists that since 1993 intend to change the history of art with a strong social and environmental commitment and the innovative use of plastic material that evoque the relationship between natural and artificial.

The installation is part of a bigger one organized at the Centro Commerciale Il Giulia since April where many animals of recycled plastic materials of all sizes can be seen.

The social commitment of the group is expressed by the intention to sell (always at Il Giulia) the animals and the proceeds will be donated to the city for the restoration of the Fontana dei Quattro Continenti in Piazza Unità d’Italia.

Therefore, as a Trieste citizen, I would like to thank the Cracking Art Group and the organizers of the installation for bringing this colorful art in the city.
