Trieste and coffee is a dicotomy that dates back from its age as the Asburgic Empire free port (1719) when from its docks million of coffee bags were unloaded and sent to the famous historic cafes of MiItteleuropa.

The Salone degli Incanti, from July 22nd to November 8th, hosts a free exhibition called “Il gusto di una città – Trieste capitale del caffè”, to narrate the complex process, sovranational and multicultural of this drink and the central role that the city of Trieste assumed in its production and commercialization.

Coffee is one of the most consumed drinks in the world, a thousand flavors elisir, a sensorial experince but at the same time it is innovation, research and enterprise.

The exhibition is only part of the project that includes shows, concerts, conferences and much more in a condensed program that can be found on the official website:

The venue is interesting from different points of view: the exhibition is very interesting and very well organized and it leads thorough the world of coffee, the photos are amazing, the bar within the venue allows you to spend also some chilling time while visiting the exhibition, the concerts are very particular and unique and the lectures informative.

I think that from this project could come out a spin off for new social venue in Trieste, a venue that combines culture, commerce and a meeting point for people of all ages. Let’s see how it works in those months but I think that it could be a great idea for a new business in town. Anybody interested?
Also the venue is officialy a part of the Coffee Cluster that has been organized by Illycaffè at Expo 2015 in Milan.
